Remark Software - Training Modules
The Custom Export Data format is in all Remark products and can be useful for formatting your data when you have very specific data requirements. The most common use we find for this file format is needing to change data containing multiple respondents per row to one row per respondent (e.g., for attendance gathering). The Custom format provides a text-based data file that can be imported into virtually any other program.
This webinar is targeted to intermediate software users. It is assumed that you have an understanding of the product workflow (creating templates and processing data).
Learn how to use the enhanced Query Parameters feature in Remark Web Survey 5.1 and later to pass variables into your online web forms AND into your corresponding data. For example, if sending out a course evaluation, you can use Query Parameters to insert the instructor’s name into the email invitation URL. When the web form is submitted, the instructor’s name will be included in the data set. You can also use the Query Parameter value in conjunction with the Answer Piping feature to display information to the respondent (e.g., the instructor’s name in the previous example). This module takes you through creating Query Parameters, emailing recipients invitations that include the Query Parameter values, using Query Parameter values in Answer Piping, and reviewing the resulting data that includes the Query Parameter value.
Learn how to use the many time saving features of the built in email center including: Acquiring email addresses, saving, editing and saving email templates, merging information from the login page (if present) and embedding the respondent's password and username into the web form's URL so that the respondent does not have to log in.
Learn how to use the Respondent Detection feature to see who has and has not completed a web form.
Learn the easiest quickest way to make questions in a table format required.
Learn how to create a login page, import passwords, email addresses, names and user names from a database. See how to generate random passwords and more.
Learn how to create an OMR template for an exam using the Remark Office OMR exam tutorial files. This is the first part in a series to help you master Remark Office OMR.
Learn how to process completed tests, review and correct data output with Review Exceptions and save test data using the Remark Office OMR Data Center.
Learn how to use the Easy Grade feature to grade exams in Remark Quick Stats.
This webinar shows you the new email feature in Remark Office OMR 8. Email provides you with a quick and easy way to get information out of Remark Office OMR and into your constituents’ hands. You can email data files or report files right from the software using Microsoft Outlook or a built in email client. We will show you how to configure email and then walk through emailing a data file and a report file. When using email, you can send attachments in their native format or as zipped (compressed) files; we will demonstrate both methods.
This webinar is targeted to all user levels. Please note that we will not demonstrate the steps that lead up to the point where you have a data file or report to email. It is assumed that you know how to use Remark to the point where you have information you want to email to interested parties.
This webinar shows you how to optimally set up a form so that you can export the data to the SPSS format most efficiently. SPSS is a powerful statistical analysis program from IBM that is used by many Remark users. We will take a paper form and create a form template for it in Remark Office OMR, showing you how best to set it up so that when you view your data in SPSS, it is ready to go. In addition, we will be using Remark Office OMR Version 8, which includes many enhancements to the SPSS format, including longer variable name support and easier form template set up for questions that allow more than one response. We will take the data to the SPSS application to show you how it translates from Remark Office OMR to SPSS. Please note that we will not be doing any extensive work within SPSS. This webinar focuses on optimal form template setup and the steps required to move data from Remark Office OMR to SPSS only.
This webinar is targeted to SPSS users who want to ensure they know how to set up their form templates in Remark Office OMR and who want to see the new features in version 8. Attendees should have basic Remark knowledge, including general form template set up and form processing, as the basics of these features will not be covered.
Remark Office OMR can automatically detect forms, pages of forms and respondents using its tracking features. You can place a barcode, printed text or OMR area on the forms to distinguish them from other forms. Within the same form, if pages are scanned out of order, you can use page identifiers to collate them. Similarly, if respondents' pages are accidentally separated, you can use a respondent identifier to collate the data. This webinar utilizes Remark Office OMR to explain how to set up identifiers on the forms and demonstrate how the processing ties all the data back together.
This webinar is targeted to intermediate and higher users of Remark Office OMR. It is expected that you know how to create templates, collect data and run reports.
Do you often collect information on your form that also exists in a separate database? The Database Lookup feature in Remark Office OMR will allow you to link an existing region on your form to an external database to validate scanned data and add additional information, such as demographic or private information, to your data output. This feature can also be used in conjunction with Respondent Detection which has the ability to determine which respondents’ forms have been processed, as well as locate duplicate respondents in your data. We will cover how to use the Respondent Detection tool with Database Lookup and will examine the benefits of using each of these features.
This webinar is targeted for Advanced Remark Office OMR users who understand how to use Remark Office OMR and want to better understand how to use Database Lookup with Respondent Detection. We will be using Remark Office OMR to demonstrate the feature, but this feature can also be used in Remark Classic OMR.
The Remark Web Survey Admin Control Panel was revamped for version 5 to make it easier to navigate and provide more functionality. Watch this webinar to learn how to view, download and reset data, use Remark Live Stats™ to see live web form data, and create user accounts to control who has access to your data.
Learn how to use question branching, also known as skip patterns, in Remark Web Survey to direct respondents to specific questions based on how they answer other questions on the form. If a question doesn’t apply to the respondent, they can skip it. Or, if they answer a question a certain way and you want to find out more, you can direct them to follow up questions. You can also set the web form to display pages of questions in a random order to eliminate question bias.
Learn about how to add Login pages for password protection, send emails to respondents and track who has taken your web form with the respondent detection feature.
Watch a demonstration of the Remark Office OMR software covering everything from form design to data analysis.
Learn how to use the Review Exceptions feature in Remark Office OMR 2014 to clean your processed data.
Learn how to use Image regions to populate data on the fly while you are processing forms.
