Creating a New Administrator Password for the Admin Control Panel

In Remark Web Survey it is possible to reset the software to it's original default state when the Administrator account password is lost.

If you forget the password for the Administrator account, you can delete the rwsem5.cfg file from the scripts directory. This will restore the Remark Web Survey Control Panel to its original installation state, allowing you to setup a new password for the Administrator account. Use the default password of rws when prompted to select a password for the Administrator account.

------------------------------------
Remark Web survey 4:

The password to access the administrative script is contained in an encrypted configuration file. You may delete this file to restore the software to its default password, rws.

The file is typically located in the CGI directory, or wherever you have chosen to store configuration files, and is called rws4.cfg.

Once you delete the file, login to the administrative script. You will be prompted to change your password. Enter rws for the old password and then enter and confirm a new password.
